Let me introduce myself
Firstly, why ‘a life without colour’? Well, from an early age at school I found out that I couldn’t see the same colours as my classmates and after having my first in-school eye test it was obvious that I had what was commonly known as red/green colour blindness. As you can imagine, this has been a real challenge for me with colour photography and I make really good use of a colour picker when post-processing!
I am in my mature years now, but sometimes I’m still a child at heart. I remain twelve-years-old for two very important reasons – teenagers get spots and adults have responsibilities!
Photography has been a passion since, well twelve, although, like any relationship, I have floated in and out of love with it, but the passion really hasn’t lessened one bit. In fact, it’s expanded to learning the new wave of digital manipulation using a few of the many growing AI avenues available today.
I also have a love for all things mechanical, which covers toys to cars and machines to motorcycles. At the age of sixteen I bought a Triumph Tiger Cub motorcycle and as soon as I had passed my test, I moved on to something much bigger, a Triumph Tiger 100SS. After a few years of riding in all weathers it was time to move on to four wheels and I bought one of the original Alex Issagonis designed BMC Mini’s, an early one that was first registered in 1963. Following this, I went on to own and drive many more cars with my latest being my thirty-sixth!
At the age of fifty, I had one of those mid-life crisis’ you often hear about and decided it was a good idea to get another motorcycle, so I bought a Kawasaki ER6f, then finally settling on a Honda VT600 that I have recently sold, because I realised that I don’t bounce as well now at my age! I have always been into cars and still am, and have had some very interesting makes and models over the years. Looking at what some of them are now selling for, I wish I had kept a few – ah well, money isn’t everything!
I really hope that you enjoy your visit to this website, which will be developing and expanding when time permits, and if you feel the urge to send me your comments then please use the form on the Contact page.
